GEO means Generative Engine Optimization. This checklist reviews whether a business website is clear enough for search engines and AI tools to understand, summarize, compare, and reference accurately.
1. Entity clarity
- □ Company name is consistent across the website.
- □ Legal or operating name is visible where appropriate.
- □ Location and service area are clear.
- □ Company description is specific, not generic.
- □ Website, LinkedIn, and public profiles use consistent identity.
2. Service clarity
- □ Each core service has a page or section.
- □ Each service has a clear H1 or H2.
- □ Each service explains who it is for.
- □ Each service explains the problem it solves.
- □ Each service explains deliverables, boundaries, and next steps.
3. Page structure
- □ Important pages have one clear H1.
- □ H2 and H3 headings are used logically.
- □ Pages are not only long marketing paragraphs.
- □ Lists and FAQs are used where helpful.
- □ Pages answer common user questions directly.
4. FAQ readiness
- □ The website includes a general FAQ page.
- □ Core service pages include service-specific FAQs.
- □ FAQ answers are concise and factual.
- □ Questions use wording real customers would use.
- □ FAQ content does not make unsupported claims.
5. Schema and structured data
- □ Organization or LocalBusiness schema is present.
- □ Service pages include Service schema where appropriate.
- □ FAQ pages include FAQPage schema where appropriate.
- □ BreadcrumbList schema is used on important pages.
- □ Schema content matches visible page content.
6. AI answer readiness
- □ AI can answer what the company does.
- □ AI can answer who the company helps.
- □ AI can answer what problem each service solves.
- □ AI can answer what the deliverables are.
- □ AI can answer what the service does not guarantee.
